Multiple Images on the Canvas

  1. Load All the pics into Photoshop
  2. Make a NEW page for printing
  3. The page size should match your printer output 8.5 x 11 inches or 13 x 19 inches... etc

  4. Turn on the Layout Grid (Menu is View > Show > Grid)

  5. You may have changed the default Layout grid to something else... If that is the case the settings are: Preferences > Guide, Grid & Slices

    The grid will not print.

  6. Select the first photo by clicking anywhere in the photo... Then get the rectangular marque tool, (Keyboard Shortcut is the m key). Now hold down the shift key (to make a square selection) and hold down the left mouse button, drag the mouse and make a square selection of part of the photo you want on the layout page.
  7. Switch to the Move tool (keyboard short cut is the v key). Place the move tool pointer inside the marching ant "marque" and hold down the left mouse button and then holding down the left mouse button Drag selected square onto the grid page.
  8. Now Press Command T (Mac), Control T (PC) to make a Free Transform to Scale the photo to fit in a row of 2 or 3 photos... the size of the scaled photo will depend on how many photos you want to fit on the pages rows.
  9. When the square is the size you want on the layout page Press the Return Key (Mac) or Enter Key (PC) This locks the transformed square
  10. Now select a new photo, then go back to the first photo and press the m key.
  11. Click inside the selected area, then hold down the mouse button and drag the selection to the next photo you are going to put into the layout. Let go of the mouse button when you get the marque inside the second photo. Position the marque where you want to make your selection and...
  12. Press the v key, click inside the selection, hold down the mouse button and drag the new photo selection onto the grid layout.
  13. Now Press Shift-Command-T (Mac) or Shift-Control-T (PC) This will automatically resize the photo to the same size as the First image you placed on the grid!!!
  14. Repeat until you have all the photos on the grid
  15. Position and align the photos
  16. (optional) Make it a Black & White R=200 G=-20 B=-75
  17. Add a Title
  18. Make sure all the photos have a border.
