Dreamweaver Tutorial

Making a template page

When you have finished laying out your "main" or "home" web site page you can use it to build other pages for your web site without having to do it all that lay out again.

Dreamweaver let's you make Templates. The best feature about a template is that if you want to make a change that affects all the pages on your web site (you might have hundreds of them) All you have to change is the template page and Dreamweaver will update all the pages based on your template. Nice!

Here's How:

Dreamweaver automatically adds the extension .dwt to the file. If you don't have a Tempaltes folder Dreamweaver will automatically make the folder and insert your template file "SiteTemplatePage.dwt" inside the folder.

In Dreamweaver you will now be working in the file SiteTemplatePage.dwt (check the file tabs to confirm this.)
